He Didn’t Give Me a Chance to Fight

How the Hell Did I End up on the Pavement?

Hey Fighter! See the title? That may be your words after surviving an assault on the street. The fact is you may not even know who attacked you. It is every time the same thing to remember, fighter. There are no rules on the street and that means street fight has no rules too. The only rule that bounds you fighters is the law – but that is all!

You can get beaten to the ground and when you wake up, you may not even know what the hell hit you and even from which direction the strike came.
How the hell am I going to dodge something I can’t see? Who was that bloody mfcker who did that to you? What kind of fighter would do this kind of shit? …Nothing. You can not remember a thing. The fearless fighter got smacked down by a single strike. One blow – BAM! – fighter gone!

This happens all the time… Why? Because you didn’t even notice that there was someone with intentions to strike you down. You didn’t even realize that someone would actually do that.

Some nerds do it just to satisfy their ego. They attack from behind or jump and strike on you from the crowd of passing-by people, sometimes from behind too.

It is important to realize that people who want to strike, mug or kill someone usually pick victims who are weaker than them on the first sight. They want the strike to be quick and effective. They don’t want them to fight back - they don’t want to encounter any fighter – like you, FIGHTER. It takes time and during that time they shit in their pants because they just don’t want to risk someone will help their victim. And especially not police or some skilled fighter!

This kind of  “chicken fighter” doesn’t want to be identified, caught and hurt. They just want to overcome the fight. I may not even call the “fighters” because they never actually fight you… they just strike from a safe place.

And it can happen anywhere my dear fighter. The thief, mugger, violator or potential killer can choose you on a bus station, school, job… just anywhere and it is up to you to notice something is wrong.
People care only about them selves these days and don’t look around. And that is a big, big, big mistake. You have to look around to see potential threats. Use all senses possible. Listen to the sounds when walking alone in the dark after your night shift. See if there is someone approaching you from any side. Look behind you time after time. You simply have to think as a fighter when walking the street alone.

You know. That “chicken fighter” bunch won’t come in front of you and say “hello, I’m Josh and I would like to rape and kill you. Would you mind not fighting me because I’m really in a hurry and I have to rape three more people to satisfy my freaky needs?”

They will just wait for their moment and do their thing – in the nastiest way you can imagine.
No rules, no honor. They want to have the factor of surprise on their side and they become very unconfident when they loose it. Count with that, fighters.

You have to train your senses. The best thing you can do, is while walking somewhere, try to notice every person around you. Try not to let anyone to approach you or pass-by close around you without you noticing him/her first. Try it as your homework fighters and practice your inaccessibility.

Don’t Look in Their Eyes Fighter!

Look in the Eyes is a Provocation

Hi fighters! One more for the „On the Battlefield“ category.

There is something you should know when walking the street every time you go trough suspicious areas or pass-by some not very nice people (not talkin’ about clothes – they can wear Gucci and still look bad).

Fighters – first of all, you must pay attention on what is happening around you. Listen to the sounds and look for things that might signalize some kind of threat to you. Plan forward.

Remember when some mean fighter in some martial arts fighter movie said that you should look in people’s eyes to see what they are up to? WRONG! You should look on their hands first. Would you be able to recognize your assailant’s intentions just by looking him in the eyes, fighters? I don’t think so.

You can look in the fighter’s eyes in the conversation part because when people talk, they use their eyes, yet they might not know it. Negotiators use the eye techniques for example to determine if the villain is lying or something like that. For that eyes are good fighters, but since you are in a real fight, you won’t have a time to scan where your opponent is looking. In fact, what I do a lot during fights, is that I try to close the eyes of a fighter so I can perform a move smoothly.

There are ways of using the fighter’s eyes to your advantage, but looking in them during fight is not among them.

The big idea is that when you look in their eyes, you only provoke them. It is a natural animal instinct. People feel offended when you look in their eyes for a longer time. In conversation it might be normal, but when you pass-by some nerd and you look him in his eyes, he will probably feel like you are trying to tell him “Hey nasty guy, I’m not afraid of you, I can fight you anytime. And by the way you suck mfcker!” And believe me.. they don’t like to be called “nasty guy”.

So look on their hands fighter. Why? Well it is simple. Search for a weapon. If they have hands in their pockets – that is a sign for you that there is something more to come out than just his little glove puppet. Even if there is none, you should already be prepared to face more than just an empty hand. That can make your street fight much easier my fellow fighter.

See fighter you just can not let them surprise you. You must surprise them!

Remember. There are so many places in clothing where people can hide their weapons. And they are not going to pull it out on you with their eyes. Don’t expect superman’s laser. Look for cold weapons and guns.

More Fighter Street “On the battlefield” stuff coming soon.
