Fighter Street is a blog with tips on real self defense and street fighting. Tactics and strategies on how to survive a street fight close combat situations and fight for your life situations.
This is a very nice technique, that is usually followed with other, also very effective moves, like eye gouge, ear tear or multiple kicks in the groin (just to give you some example).
The whole idea about the ear slap move is that you hit hard opponents ears with your hands, what has a massive effect on your assailant’s center of balance. Confusing him and gaining control over him for a while.
Performing ear slap is like hitting the ball in a volleyball smash. You shape your hand so it looks a little bit cupped and hit anywhere around the ear. The ear is the best target, but if you mess it up and hit a jaw or a neck, it has a good effect too, so don’t feel disappointed.
Try ear slap at home. I bet everyone has some kind of ball (football ball, soccer ball) and try ear slap on that. Shape your hand and hit it as hard as you can. The landing zone of your hand is your palm (basically the whole part above wrist – palm, fingers…).
I recommend practicing the ear slap move from the stance, where you put your hands in your pockets or put them on your hips. Now shoot your hands up and before you to the height of your own head. Don’t stop your hands on the place you would imagine your opponent’s head. Just clap your hands to have some feedback on your power. Do that many times in a row with speed and power.
You can replace assailant’s head for a plastic barrel or a plastic bottle. If you have a speed bag, heavy bag or “Bob”, you can nicely practice on these.
Remember to always combine the ear slap with other moves and create your own special combinations.
Ear slap can be also performed with just one hand, when the second grabs assailants hand or clothing and pull him in the direction of the ear slap while you then continue the momentum your ear slapping hand and pull your assailant’s head. This way you can easily ear slap your opponent to the ground.
It is very effective move that is nicely combined with eye gouge when attacking from behind. Ear slap with both hands and then rake the eyes with your middle fingers.
Have any ideas about combining the ear slap move with other techniques? Tell us about it…
How to talk when being attacked. Well many people will tell you – “Hey, you can try to talk your way out of it, but you better not even open your mouth!” But that is all and you can just guess for your self what to say. The defensive talk should be part of your plan and there are different ways of defensive talking that should help you save your butt.
The first think you should know, is that your voice is a weapon and according to that you should use it. Forget those mean sayings like “I’m gonna kick your ass!”,“Lets get ready to rock!” or “There can be only one Highlander!” and anything like that. It’s nice and fancy, but it is not tactics.
Defensive talk is all about tactics and strategy.
1. Defensive talk scenario – When you have identified the threat and whether you have already stopped the guy or still trying to create some distance between you two, your defensive talk must be strong in voice and you should be very convincing. It’s like giving orders to your dog. he must hear from your voice that you are his master. The same goes for your assailant. He must feel from your voice that it is you who moves the levers.
Imagine you are selling something that nobody wants to someone and you really need him to buy. You must convince him that he really needs it and he can no longer live without your product. Now when being attacked, you sell your life or money and you must persuade that bastard he has no other option than letting you go!
You can use sentences like “My friends will be here in a minute!”, “I just walked around two cops, I think I may call them!” or “Hey, I want no trouble, you better leave!” – remember that you must have really dominant voice tone.
I highly recommend to learn some covert hypnosis stuff to master the defensive talk skill. You can get quality guide here. It’s totaly insane and it will blow your fighter’s mind. Its super cheap so go and get it.
2. Defensive talk scenario – If you want to execute your offense from the close quarters – I mean really close (usual for rapes) preparing the assailant for close strikes like the throat blow or chin jab you should play timid with your hands raised so it would look like you really don’t want to fight. Saying “I’m going to tear your head off m*f*cker!” is not going to make you look timid at all. I would recommend saying things like “You don’t want to do this!” or “Please, I don’t want any trouble!”
3. Defensive talk scenario - The guy is approaching you, waving his hands walking like a jerk, shouting out he is going to kick your ass. Coming to you slowly, and giving away his intentions to everyone around saying “Hey, ya looked on me bitch ass?!”…well this is the scenario, where you don’t want to answer any of his questions or anyhow connect to what he is saying to you. Say something like “Hey dude, I gotta find a toilet, see ya later!” or “I’m going to vomit man!”and go away, leaving him there standing and feeling little bit like an idiot. He may still yell something on you but don’t pay much attention to that. These guys only shout, they rarely take action. If you hear sounds like someone is running towards you, run too.
4. Defensive talk scenario – When being attacked by a group. Well now it is also about your conversational skills since you have two options here. First option is that you aim your defensive talk on the leader of the group. Be convincing and confident about what you are saying. Attack his position as a leader and say things like “So you need a whole bunch of people to feel brave enough to attack me!” or “So now you feel like a hero with all these guys around you!” or “I bet you are just going to watch as your gorillas do all the action!”. If you can think of anything better that would question his leadership say it. Again – be convincing.
The second option is not aiming on the leader, but on the weakest part of the chain. This is kind of connected to your perception skill because you have to identify that weak spot, which is a person, who doesn’t seem to be sure about what they are doing. Once again set up your dominant voice tone and aim your defensive talk on him. “Do you realize what you are doing?” or “This isn’t right and you know it!”
…now, if you have identified the weak spot of the attacking group, you are just not going to talk to him and question his status in the party, but he also represents your escape door. Since he is psychically the weakest and may be also physically – what is the best option – you are going to plan your actions to run away trough him. They will definitely try to surround you in a place you will have a slight chance to run, so you must create the way your self. Break the chain in it’s weakest spot and run.
Shorten the distance between you two as you talk to him so he would be the nearest assailant of them all. Giving you time since they can reach you after they react on your action. Pretend timid and talkative person and as you are close enough – BAM! – one in the groin, neck or nose and RUN! Get lost among people or hide in a dark spot.
Remember to always play it safe and that there are ways to win without fighting. Even though they doesn’t always work, it is worth trying them.

Make your hands like guns and let everybody “feel” your hit!
Punch Speed
Speed is one of your biggest weapons for the street fight. The speed with which you can come up with a plan, the speed of your reactions and of course, the speed of your own body movement.
If you can’t keep up in strength with your opponent, it is your speed that must fill the gab.
In this article I’m going to cover one for the subcategories of the body movement. To be precise – the punch speed. May be it is not general enough because since it is called just a punch speed, it affects the speed of all your hand attacks like chops, and other stuff.
You can train your speed punch in several ways.
1. punch speed exercise – Train your punch speed with weights.
Take one dumbbell in each hand and practice the shadow boxing. For more fun stand before the mirror and shadow punch your self. Perform the punching until you are exhausted enough so you can barely raise your hands.
This way your hands will get used to the weight and once removed, your punches will gain incredible speed. It is also a very good way to strengthen your hands and shoulders (mainly the whole upper body will gain more strength and flexibility) …you can gain incredibly strong speed punch with this one.
2. punch speed exercise – Speed punching drills.
Take some hitting point like Makiwara or heavy bag – simply something you can hit. Now perform the speed punch drills. First you start hitting one spot as fast as you can – one punch after another – until your muscles get tired. Now don’t stop punching, just take you time, punch slow and easy. After you gain a little strength back, start a new speed punch drill.
Repeat this until your body won’t let you to perform even one more speed punch drill.
The aim of both these speed punch exercises is that you have to exhaust your body till you got nothing left so it will need to improve. After some regeneration time perform these exercises again.
You can do them in rotations so your body won’t get used to one speed punch exercise so it won¨t have such effect.
Keep practicing and you will see that you punch speed will improve drastically.
Master of speed punching was no one other than Bruce Lee. He was a master of speed and that was the reason it was so hard to beat him. How do you want to hit something that is no longer there?
Improve your speed and try to keep up with Master Lee.
Now I would love to know what you think, fighters…
Eye gouge combat move is according to me one of the most effective techniques you can ever use. When a guy happens to be eye gouged, guess how he would behave?
If you eye gouge anybody, his main concern would be about his eyes. He doesn’t want to lose them and keep his sight. Not only you cause him a great pain with eye gouge, but you can also blind him with your fingers.
Man that is a great thing since you are already performing a very effective technique which is eye gouge itself, but you can easily continue with more also very effective close combat moves like kneeling in the attacker’s nuts, kickin’ his shins, stomping feet or one of my favorites is to blast his head over the wall.
“Doctor! We have a KNOCKOUT here!!”
Are you like millions of people out there trying to fight honestly using only the “tickle me” punches they learned from the TV, or are you one of those people who are really serious about surviving the fight and emerging victorious?
If you are the latter, eye gouge is for you mate.
Eye gouge is a hell of a dirty technique and if you are really certain about what you are doing, you can leave the guy totally blind without even trying hard. BAM!! Eye out!
The best way how to train it is on the “BOB” figurine. These rubber guys are anatomically plastic so you can perform an eye gouge like you would do it on a real person.
If you do eye gouge from behind, put your palms on your victim’s ears and rake your middle fingers in his eyes. The best way to perform an eye gouge is to pull your fingers through the inner eye hole (the one nearest to the nose). I love to combine an eye gouge performed from behind with an ear blow or ear slap (it’s the same) move. Very effective baby…
A front eye gouge is the same but the only difference is that you use your thumbs for the actual gouge. During that you can do lots of other moves I described earlier. Once you are bored eye gouging – grab opponent’s ears and tear them of his head. He has never ever suffered so much pain – I guarantee that.
I personally use an eye gouge as an alternative to the throat blow. You have to play timid and wait for the attacker to come closer. Than BAM! – your thumbs are in his ears in a second and it is time for you to lead the party.
Remember to stay safe. Eye gouge is a very effective and dangerous combat move – it saves lives fighters!
Do you have anything you’d like to add? Please share…
Shin kick is a very powerful and effective combat move. Everybody on the planet have already experienced that monstrous pain when hit in the shin bone during a football match or doing anything else.
I remember when I was first practicing with “bo” (Japanese term for a pole) and smashed the top of it right in to my shin bone when trying to rotate it. The pain was horrible!
And pain is what this combat move is basically about. Shin kick is based on hitting a place on your leg where the bone is very accessible so you can smash it and torture the one being hit. Even a small blow can cause unbearable pain.
As I have used the shin kick quite a few times, I must say that people are really unaware to this kind of combat move. When you raise your leg, they presume you want to kick them in a head or what, but they never think about kicking shin.
The best part is that you don’t need much space to perform the shin kick because the shin is low located and that means easily accessible. It’s fast and very effective.
If you would find a good leverage to your hit and perform really nice shin kick, the person is undoubtedly going to fall down so you can kick him a little more or run away.
One teacher of mine once told me you can even KO someone using a shin kick, but I have never really KO’d anyone with this kind of combat move though I love to use it.
The magic around the shin kick is that your opponent can be the meanest steroid machine in the world, but when you kick him in his shin bone, he would cry like a little bitch!
This combat move rocks and I highly recommend practicing it from all types of stands and angles with just a bare foot. An ordinary steel pipe can replace the shin bone.
Once you gain some habit in breaking pipes with just a bare foot, you are pretty much ready to smack some bucks down with your shin kick.
Just to give you some tips, I like to add shin kick combat move in my “combos”. When for exmple you throw a punch and you happen to miss, the focus of your opponent is on the hand and on height level where the punch was aimed at. When you continue with a shin kick you can pretty much do some real magic damage. Or even execute this combat move simoultaneously with the punch.
He will not see you performing a shin kick, but he will surely feel it. May be more than he would like to.
Shin kick is really a beautiful combat move that can deliver a nice amount of pain and can, if not end the fight, make the fight much easier.
